COOKING COURSES
East African cuisine is simple yet flavourful. It is influenced by both its poor
population’s need for inexpensive, filling foods (maize, beans, rice, green
vegetables and at times, goat) as much as by Indian cuisine. This is evident in
the popularity of chapatti, samosas, tea masala and the various spices
available.
We have a number of friendly and qualified cooks who take time out of their
professions as chefs to provide Travel Closer clients with short cooking
courses.
The cuisine you will learn about is typical to Eastern Africa, not just
Tanzania, and will include home favourites with a few twists and turns. The
courses are not only about the practical act of cooking but learning about the
ingredients too. What is ugali and how is it best eaten? What is the difference
between Sukuma Wiki and Kale? And between Chapatti and the Indian Naan?
Courses on average will last 4 hours and of course, rates include the meal!
