HIKES, WALKS & MOUNTAIN BIKING

Both hiking and mountain biking are great ways to see the real Tanzania. They are also completely compatible with our home-stay programs. You will be able to mix both of these activities on a single trip.

Hikes and Walks

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Pack your gear and set off for days (or even weeks) hiking around the foothills of Mount Meru, Mount Kilimanjaro as well as the more remote villages of Makuyuni (near Lake Manyara), Kiranyi, Longido, Maji Moto, Monduli and the hills around Loshoto.

Depending on your chosen routes, hiking around some of the villages also offers the opportunity to visit some of our home-stay families. You will be able to meet family members, have tea in traditional mud huts and, through your trusty guide and interpreter, ask as many questions as you like about the Masai way of life.

In these areas you can also visit various farms, coffee plantations, purchase dairy products from villagers, see pottery makers at work and admire stunning sceneries. You will also be able to visit beautiful natural attractions such the serene and magical Lake Duluti and the waterfalls of Kidia, Marangu and Nabaye.

We have several planned routes of 1 day and up to 2 weeks; although in truth, the options are only limited by your available time and budget. Would you like to change course during your hike? Just tell your guide!

There is simply no other way to see rural Masai life as it really is, and no other way to learn about so many cultures directly from your guide, than to share stories, cook food or have a drink together by a campfire under the stars.

Mountain Biking

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Mountain biking expeditions are a wonderful way to get to know Tanzania. Travelling by bike allows us to take you further, covering remote villages and off-roading onto otherwise inaccessible areas. We are also able to take you closer to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation Area where we will effectively be doing a “game bike” (instead of game drive!) and see giraffes, impala, zebras and many more animals up-close and personal.

With large groups, we offer the opportunity for car-hire. In this manner we can take all camping gear and food ahead of you, so you can not only travel light, but also have the campsites ready for you at each of your destinations.

Please contact us for more information.
